it began in January 2010 but took off after the S.A.N.E exhibition in Adelaide in August 2010. Now I bore everyone with my latest updates and progress.I'm lovin' it! Hope you do too...xx
The beginning
i have always loved dolls houses but conceded that i did not have anywhere to have one, nor did i have enough time to waste on one.
I (and the whole family who contributed) made sure my daughter Lee had one as a child and the family contributed to it, so that she had the most amazing pieces in her house.When we left Sydney she sold her dolls house that Pop had built for her (an A frame like his house), We had packaged up all her dolls house stuff and packed it away.
Last year I bought Lee a new dolls house and she bought her daughter Emily one as well ...... so they have 2 houses at their place.
My girlfriend Vikki in Adelaide has 2 large houses completed and a department store and a park, a glasshouse and a garden.
She is obsessed and has hers all electrically wired up and everything and also has a dedicated room for them.
So as usual, this year I sent her some pieces for Christmas for her house and she rang after Christmas and we (once again) discussed her dolls houses and the fact that I can't have one, so i just enjoy going to the dolls house shop and buying pieces for Lee and Emily and Vikki's houses.
She asked me all about the shop that i go to and asked me to spell the suburb and all that stuff and i never even twigged. I told her that they had the house that i wanted there but it was way too expensive to justify.
Then the next day she rang again and said that she had been in contact with the shop and put a deposit on MY dolls house at the shop and that he only had the one left and was putting it aside for me...
what could i do but go to the shop and collect it.
I bought the house and a couple of rooms of furniture and a family to populate it,.....
the money-pit begins!!!!!!!!
And the Obsession has begun!!!
